CONNECTICUT

Thomas McKnight (1941 - ...) is a renowned American artist, originally from Lawrence, Kansas. His work is represented in the permanent collections of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian Institution. He was also commissioned by the White House to paint an image for President Clinton’s official Christmas card.


MAINE

Tim Gagnon is a contemporary artist born in northern Maine. His work is inspired by explorations of mood and the human mind.


MASSACHUSETTS

Donald Curran is a professional artist with a successful career as an illustrator. His strongest influences are the American Impressionists of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Painting of Massachusetts shown below. 







NEW HAMPSHIRE

Maxfield Parrish (1870-1966) was a painter and illustrator from Philadelphia. He is considered on of the great American Masters. 

Parrish is famous for his idyllic, dreamy landscape scenes, saturated in color. Some of his best known works were inspired by the landscaping at the Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California. New Hampshire painting shown below. 

 







NEW JERSEY

Henry Martin Gasser (1909-1981) was an American painter from New Jersey. His style depicts everyday subjects in watercolors and oil. His works are currently in high demand. New Jersey artwork shown above. 



NEW YORK

Howard Newman is a versatile professional artist whose works include paintings, prints, sculptures and antique restorations. His art has been reviewed in the New York Times. See his NYC painting below. 





OHIO

George Jensen (1878-1977) was an artist from Ohio who painted scenes of local landscapes. His use of colors and shadow captured the genuine feel of outdoor lighting.

 

PENNSYLVANIA

Adam Maeroff is an Ohio artist who specializes in painting and papier mache. His style, sometimes called "Magic Realism," is largely inspired by his personal experience.

 

RHODE ISLAND

William Trost Richards (1833-1905) was an important American landscape artist associated with the Hudson River School. His style was devoted to photographic realism.

 

VERMONT

Aldro Thompson Hibbard (1886-1972) was a prominent American painter from Massachusetts. His works are done primarily in the Plein-air style. His original paintings fetch a lot of money in today's art market. The painting shown below depicts a covered bridge in Vermont.
