North Carolina is home to more than nine million people. The state's ten largest cities are Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, Durham, Winston-Salem, Fayetteville, Cary, High Point, Wilmington and Asheville, in that order.
North Carolina's landscape is loaded with natural beauty, and the state has many scenic attractions. These include 34 State Parks, 14 National Parks, many miles of beaches, and several lovely offshore islands such as Ocrakoke and Hatteras.
Two of the most interesting tourist attractions in the state of North Carolina are the Waynesborough Historical Village in Goldsboro and the Cherokee Indian Reservation.
