  1. Arizona is bordered by the states of California (on the west), Nevada (on the west), Utah (on the north) and New Mexico (on the east), as well as the International border of Mexico to the south.

  8. Arizona has the largest area of Ponderosa pines in the world.
  9. The biggest meteor crater in America is located near Winslow. It measures 4,150 feet across, and is 570 feet deep.
  10. Before European explorers arrived, Arizona was populated by Navajo and Apache Indian tribes.
  11. Arizona's most famous natives include Geronimo (Apache warrior), Barry Goldwater (former U.S. Senator), Stevie Nicks (singer) and Kerri Strugg (Olympic Gymnastics gold medalist).
  12. A fish species called the Arizona trout is found only in Arizona.
  13. Arizona residents do not observe daylight savings time, except within the Navajo Nation.
