The next time you find yourself in the state of Texas, on the way between Houston and Dallas, you might consider stopping at the tiny town of Teague.
Located in Freestone County, Teague spans less than four square miles and has a population of only about five thousand residents. That's real small for Texas.
Popular local points of interest, according to the Houston Tourism office, are the Teague Public Library, Teague City Park, Gregory Field Park, and the Burlington Rock Island Railroad Museum. Quaint landmark structures include the former Teague Hotel.
Teague also features a functioning motel, three well stocked grocery stores, and at least a dozen local restaurants.
The town of Teague is only about twenty miles west of the camping, fishing and hiking grounds of Fairfield Lake State Park.
The cities of Dallas and Houston are home to a number of championship sports teams, such as the Houston Astros, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Rangers.
Popular Houston tourist attractions include NASA's Houston Space Center, Splash Town Water Park, the Trader's Village, and any of the city's many major museums.
Popular tourist attractions in the city of Dallas include the World Aquarium, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Nasher Sculpture Center, and the Dallas Arboretum, to name only a few.
