For students who live in the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District, the cost of enrollment is $46 per unit. 

For students from other areas, the cost of enrollment is $46 PLUS a non resident enrollment fee of $234 per unit, for a total cost of $250 per unit. 

Other fees may also apply, such as application fees and insurance fees, among others. Additional expenses will include food, housing, books, supplies, transportation, and medical expenses not covered by insurance, to name a few. 

Financial aid may be available in the form of grants, loans, and work study programs, to help students pay for their educations at Grossmont. There may even be a scholarship opportunity from the Grossmont and Cuyamaca Colleges Foundation.

7. How long does it take to earn a degree from Grossmont College?

Full time students at Grossmont can earn an Associate's degree or a professional certificate in about two years. For part time students, how long it takes to earn a degree depends mainly on the student's personal situation. 

Roughly three quarters of Grossmont students attend the school part time. 



8. What is the Grossmont College campus like?

The Grossmont campus occupies 135 acres in a suburban setting. The campus features many newer buildings, such as a digital arts building, a library, a science building, a technology center, a health sciences building, and quite a few others. 

Campus attractions include the Grossmont College Theater and the Hyde Art Gallery. 

The athletic teams at Grossmont are called the Griffins, and are members of the California Community College Athletic Association. The team colors are green and gold. Among the intercollegiate sports for both men and women at Grossmont are:

Grossmont is set in a suburban neighborhood. Just west of campus is the Mission Trails Regional Park. 

Flight enthusiasts will love Gillespie Field, a public airport situated about three miles northeast of the Grossmont campus. Check out Gillespie Field's wicked cool collection of private planes. Gillespie Field is also home to the California Flight Academy and the San Diego Air and Space Museum. 

Roughly one mile southeast of the Grossmont campus is Broadway in El Cajon, featuring conveniences such as shopping centers, a Target store, and many places to eat. 

You could probably use a vehicle around here. Mass transit is somewhat lacking.
